HISTORICAL SITES

BELLINZONA CASTLES (UNESCO HERITAGE)

Part of the UNESCO Heritage, Castelgrande, Montebello Castle and Sasso Corbaro Castle represent the rich history of the nearby city of Bellinzona. Walk by the ancient walls, enjoy the view of the city and visit the museums in this evocative sites, reachable from the city centre of Bellinzona.

MESOCCO CASTLE

Less than ten kilometres north to Lostallo, look up and catch the sight of Mesocco Castle, dominating the Mesolcina valley from ancient times: it was built on pre-roman ruins and turned in the towering fortress in the Middle Ages by a local noble family.

THE RUINS OF NORANTOLA CASTLE

Time has stopped in this evocative location: just outside the festival grounds, between Lostallo and the ancient village of Cama, travel though time and discover the ruins of Norantola Castle: ancient medieval walls quietly rest between flowers and old trees, easily reachable on foot or by car.

IRAGNA’S POOL (Pózz Bórgh)

Cool down and relax in the crystal-clear waters of Iragna’s Pool, less than thirty minutes from Lostallo. Easily reachable from the nearby village of Iragna, “Pozz Borg” is the perfect place for chilling and enjoying a quiet afternoon with family and friends.

SANTA PETRONILLA WATERFALLS

The tiny stream of “Ri della Froda”, from up in the mountains, turns into the highest waterfalls of the Ticino area, Santa Petronilla Waterfalls. Enjoy the panoramic view, enriched by the countless rainbows created by the sparkling waters! You can reach the site with a thirty minutes walk from the centre of the nearby town, Biasca.

THE CAMA VALLEY AND LEGGIA VALLEY NATURAL FOREST PARK

Few kilometres south from Lostallo, the Cama Valley and Leggia Valley host the biggest natural forest park in Switzerland. Follow the eco-educational trail and discover the environment. Keep the pace up and reach the gem of the natural reserve: the Cama Lake, at 1200 metres above sea level.

THE CARASC TIBETAN BRIDGE

Looking for a breath-taking experience? Take a walk on one of the longest Tibetan bridges in Switzerland: more than 200 metres walking on 130 metres above the ground. Just outside of Bellinzona, adventure-lovers and families can reach the bridge through the Curzutt cableway.
